We offer a range of services and programs for adults of all skill levels.
We connect the community with free resources such as take home technology, informational programs, websites and databases, and one on one tech help.

Technology Help Appointments
Do you have a new device and want to know how to use it? Do you have any questions about your device that you want to solve?
Bring any devices that you have questions about along with any relevant login information (ex. usernames and passwords) for any accounts related to your questions.
Please note that this program is meant to provide basic technology help - we are unable to assist with in-depth technology issues, hardware repairs, or specialized software instruction.

Recording Studio

Our cutting-edge recording studio is now open for bookings! Whether you're producing voiceovers, podcasts, or any other audio project, this space is designed to bring your creative vision to life. You’re welcome to bring a partner or collaborator to assist you—this is your project, and you’re in full control. Our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to help with setup at the start of your session and ensure a seamless wrap-up when you’re finished. Note you can only have up to two 4-hour sessions per week.

MyLIBRO App
The MyLIBRO App allows Traphene Hickman Library patrons to manage their accounts, browse the catalog, check upcoming events, and reserve study rooms. To get started, users must download the app, select "Cedar Hill Traphene Hickman Library," and log in using their library card number and PIN. The app provides access to account details, event listings, and study room scheduling, ensuring a seamless library experience. View our tutorial video here.

Take Home Technology
The library provides a variety of technology devices for usage inside and outside of the library including hotspots, Chromebooks, iPads, Blu-Ray players, and more!
Policy Highlights
- Must be a Cedar Hill resident, student, or City of Cedar Hill or CHISD employee
- 16 years or older
- Library account in good standing - not expired and no fines
- State issued ID that matches the name on the library account must be provided at checkout.
- Cedar Hill students, City of Cedar Hill staff, and CHISD employees must provide their work or school ID if they do not reside in Cedar Hill.
- All items check out for two weeks.
- Items must be returned to the front desk not to a drop box.
- Late fees up of $5 up to $15 will be charged and must be paid before another item can be checked out.
Patrons are responsible for abiding by the technology policy. Fines and fees apply for items returned in damaged condition or that are lost. Read the full Technology Policy (PDF).
Computer Areas
The library offers computers for public use on both the main level and upper levels. Adult computer areas are situated next to the Business Centers. Business Centers are equipped for printing, faxing, scanning, and have free office supplies while supplies last.
Princh Mobile Printing
Mobile Printing is free to use, whether you're sending a print from home or while inside the library!
Steps
- Upload your document via Princh Mobile Printing!
- Visit the print release stations located at the foot of the adult computer stations on either floor to release your print using your email address.
- Once you release your print job visit the Business Centers to pick up your pages from the printer.
Printing Fees
- Faxes and Scans are FREE!
- Prints:
- 50 FREE prints per day.
- 51-100 pages = $5 b/w or $10 color.
- 101-200 pages= $10 b/w or $20 color. 200 is MAX prints.
