Local Authors

The Traphene Hickman Public Library wants to support and partner with you! The time, effort, investment, and hard work that go into writing your own book and publishing it is a huge accomplishment and something to be proud of! There are multiple ways the Library can help you celebrate being a local author, as well as partner with you to share your book with our community.

The library has an adult and youth Local Authors Collection. Your book can be added to our collection and catalog, putting it at the fingertips of our patrons and our community! We also offer programming that helps authors share their talents, their experiences, and their voice with our community. Local author programs are planned throughout the year that allow authors to showcase their book and/or the writing process. These vary from open mic nights, book signings, author panel discussions, meet and greets and more. The events are by invitation; program coordinators will reach out to authors who fit well with each program objective.
